Cane sugar is in our blood!
We have been farming sugarcane from centuries and the love and tradition has been passed on through generations.
Our first raw sugar manufacturing plant was established in 1960s. Established ourselves as a very well known and reputed manufacturer of Non-Refined sugar during the 70s and 80s. During the 90s, sugar industry in north India suffered major blows and we were forced to shut down operations due to low recovery and tough market conditions. But the desire to provide natural top quality cane sugar was always there.
In recent times, the use of chemicals and other harmful cleaning agents has increased tremendously. Such unknown chemicals and other bleaching agents used by even leading mills can cause drastic health issues in long run. Kolhu Foods is an initiative to provide chemical free, natural cane products to the entire world. We are back with one goal in mind, to offer natural and non-processed cane products and sweetners. Our products are Non-GMO, gluten free and 100% natural.
'Kolhu' is the word used for small natural sugar and jaggery making units in subcontinent. The name is in practice from centuries in Indian sub-continent. Back in the days, Kolhu units use to be the symbol of natural and pure products. Kolhu Foods wants to relive that dream and bring back the lost glory of Kolhu units in India.
