Farmers from generations. We are 2 brothers and a father on a mission to feed farm quality sustainable foods to the world. One brother you can see in the pic below :)
We have been farming the lands of north India from ages. Initially the farming was entirely to meet family needs. We farmed sugarcane, cereals, oil seeds such as mustard and many other wholesome varieties of food. We use to make our own sugar (Khandsari & Jaggery), our own flours and our own oils.
Eventually the love for making delicious foods transformed into business and our first khandsari sugar manufacturing unit was established in 1960s. Established ourselves as a very well known and reputed manufacturer of khandsari sugar during the 70s and 80s.
We use to be known as Anoop Singh Khandsari Udyog back in the days (Name of our grandfather). Above pic shows a letter-head from 1980s.
During the 90s, sugar industry in north India suffered major blows and we were forced to shut down operations due to low recovery and tough market conditions. But the desire to provide natural top quality farm style wholesome foods was always there.
In recent times, the use of chemicals in food items has increased drastically. Economics of masses has degraded the quality of food and created a major health concern. Food has become a factory product. Kolhu Foods is an initiative to provide chemical free, natural, wholesome and organic foods to the community. We are a farm food brand where food is not created like a factory product. You would feel the same quality and quality as it comes from your own farm.
